Watershed Discovery Day 2025 – Attractions for All Ages
Saturday, August 16, 8:00-1:00, Perth’s Crystal Palace, Farmers’ Market
Please join us for our 24th annual Watershed Discovery Event - a morning of informative and interactive displays for adults – and interesting and fun activities for the children.
Obtain answers to all your water questions, updates on current water-related issues in the community, and on programs to manage and protect our home water supplies, area water bodies and related resources. Also, this year, the crucial role that wetlands and natural environmental systems play in flood and drought control, and protection of surface water, well water, and animal and plant habitat – and challenges from development, extreme weather, and watershed infrastructure.
Eight expert water and environment organisations will be available from Rideau Valley Conservation Authority, Watersheds Canada, Ottawa Riverkeeper, Our Turtles, Federation of Ontario Cottagers’ Association, Climate Network Lanark, Plenty Canada, and Friends of the Tay.
For the children, enjoy the Paddling Puppeteer, and participate in Perth Library’s Story Hour, our ‘Fishpond’, Board game display and the interactive Wetland.
